Travel: Mom Trip to Utah
We landed in Vegas on June 6 and played tourist before we headed to our Airbnb in Zion.
We saw the Vegas strip, the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Park, and Seven Magic Mountains. We picked up Emily and her son Hudson on June 7 and headed to Zion!
We arrived at our amazing Airbnb late that night – I've never stayed at a more wonderful spot, it was so kid-friendly and they provided everything we needed for the babies.
We went to Zion National Park on June 8and what a nightmare! They make you take two shuttles (which on the return shuttle to your car be prepared to wait for HOURS.) By the time we actually got to the main lodge in the park the babies were hot and over it. Plus, 95% of the trails were closed, and we decided to skip any hiking at all and just go back to the house.
We caught the shuttle back to the park entrance and then saw the line to get back to the cars was almost 4 hours long… So we walked over a mile back to the cars. The babies were so hot and sunburned and we all needed water and a dip in the pool. But hey we saw Zion, ha!
The next day however we went and drove up to Bryce Canyon! This was so beautiful and a short little drive with lots of pull-offs on the way up! Definitely worth the drive-in. This was the only day we actually got to shoot and it was so worth it!
I loved that we had our kids with us! It was such a good mommy and me trip and I wouldn’t change travelling with Emma for the world! Not every parent is the same, but I think it’s important to remember that your life doesn't have to end when you have a child! Travel, stay home, go to work – it doesn't matter! What matters is we're all doing our best out here, let's just support each other! Surround yourself with a village of people who support you, not shame you!
Little shout out to Tiffany because I don't think I could have done any of these trips without her! She jumps in anytime I need a hand, she’ll carry my bag for me if Emma is a handful through the airport. She entertained the babies in the pool without us even asking, along with going and doing all the things on the baby schedules and not ever saying a negative word! She's the most supportive friend and business owner and everyone needs a friend like Tiffany in their corner!
Overall, it was such a fun and refreshing trip, next stop – Montana!
